      I haven t followed any of the previous Riftworld projects, but it s not a hard concept to pick up This comic projected a lot of its goals here s the dramatic opening, here s the grandmother telling a story to an eager listener, here s the rapscallion in the story and while this worked for telling the story, it didn t do to win me over Perhaps it was the choppy pacing and the inconsistent dialogue some characters spoke straight and others were near indecipherable in their accents but this felt l [...]

      I have no previous engagement with this property, but got this issue for free during a promotion, and all I really knew was that it was a fantasy story I enjoyed it for the most part, and much of this issue takes place in something resembling our world during the Renaissance, while other parts are in a kind of medieval fantasy realm with a friction between monotheists and polytheists I found myself intrigued by the world building here, and my only real issues came from some dialogue that didn t [...]
